Choosing the perfect souvenirs to bring back from Bali can be surprisingly stressful.

While touristy gifts have their place, I want to share my personal list of "tried and true" favorites—items I use in my daily life and truly love.

From lightweight treats that are easy to distribute to fragrant wellness products, these are the gems that have earned the most praise from my own friends and family.

YUKI

As a resident, I’ve discovered these high-quality local treasures that are perfect for adding a touch of Bali to your everyday routine.

 Local Honey for Dry Seasons

The packaging is beautifully designed, too

MADU ENAK Manuka Honey is a staple find in Bali’s supermarkets.

The box on the left contains single-serve sachets, while the large bottle on the right is perfect for daily home use. Prices are very affordable: Rp 29,250 for the sachets and Rp 56,920 for the large bottle.

Convenient single-serve sachets

The sachet boxes are so cute you can give them as gifts just as they are—no extra wrapping needed.

YUKI

They are lightweight and non-fragile, making them the perfect filler for any small gaps in your suitcase.

My aunt loved these so much she actually asked me for "refills" after her trip!

People tell me that "just a little bit makes my throat feel so much better," making it an excellent health-conscious souvenir.

Why I Love It

  • Halal certified, making it easy to gift as a reliable, high-quality Indonesian food product.
  • Labeled as "100% Pure Honey," which gives it a trustworthy local feel.
  • The specific floral sources, like Longan or Manuka, are clearly listed for peace of mind.
  • The elegant blue and gold packaging makes the sachets a beautiful gift on their own.
  • It has a long shelf life and won't add much weight to your luggage.

Available at supermarkets throughout Bali.

You can find it at this specific supermarket in Denpasar.

Cinnamon Granola for Close Friends & Family

Cinnamon granola pictured on the right

This cinnamon granola is sold in bulk at "SOIL FOOD TEMPLE," an ethical shop in Kerobokan.

Available for purchase starting from 100g.

While it doesn't come in fancy packaging, the flavor is a true "Bali life luxury." It has a rich cinnamon aroma and is packed with raisins, pumpkin seeds, and various nuts.

YUKI

You rarely find granola with such bold, natural flavors in Japan.

Plastic bags are also available for a small fee (approx. 5–10 yen).

It’s very affordable, starting at Rp 14,000 per 100g. I had mine packed in 200g portions.

Pro-tip: Mix it into your yogurt and let it sit overnight—the oats soften perfectly and become even more delicious!

I love their "buy only what you need" philosophy. It’s a simple gift, but one that truly leaves a lasting impression.

Why I Love It

  • The bulk-buy style perfectly conveys the authentic "real Bali lifestyle."
  • A luxurious flavor profile featuring intense cinnamon and generous helpings of nuts and fruit.
  • Offers a unique sense of thoughtfulness for family and friends who love granola.
  • Extremely high satisfaction for such an affordable price point.
  • The unpretentious zip-lock bags actually add a charming, "home-made" and "authentic" vibe.

A Fragrant Reminder of Bali: Sensatia Botanicals

From left: Hand Wash and Body Wash

When it comes to Bali’s natural beauty brands, Sensatia Botanicals is the quintessential choice.

The minimal black and blue design blends seamlessly into any bathroom decor. Since the scent and design appeal to everyone regardless of gender, these were the most well-received gifts this time.

Refills are also available

To be honest, the 500ml bottles are quite hefty. But once you smell them, you’ll know they were worth the haul!

YUKI

Even with the extra weight in my suitcase, the irresistible scents make them impossible to leave behind.

 ● Hydrating Body Wash

(300,000 IDR / 500ml)

This is my personal #1 recommendation. The soothing lavender scent is incredibly relaxing, while the botanical extracts leave your skin feeling hydrated and protected.

● Violet & Geranium Hand Wash

(300,000 IDR / 500ml)

The herbal aroma is divine—just washing your hands feels like a mini-reset for your mood.

Infused with Geranium and Lavender, it leaves your skin silky smooth with a sophisticated, lingering scent.

Bath Salts

I tried these for the first time on this trip, and they were a huge hit.

At 160,000 IDR for 500g, they are quite affordable compared to other Sensatia products.

YUKI

The fresh citrus scent fills the room, making you feel like all your stress is just melting away.

Why I Love It

  • They’re heavy, but the incredible scent satisfaction makes them a fail-proof souvenir.
  • The minimalist black and blue aesthetic looks stunning in any bathroom.
  • Premium, natural scents that are perfect for gifting to both men and women.
  • The hand wash leaves a beautiful herbal trail that’s perfect for a quick mental refresh.
  • The citrus and herb body wash is a versatile crowd-pleaser and their most popular item.
The store provided lovely paper bags, making them ready to gift right away.

\Don’t Worry About Heavy Bags!/

It’s easy to run out of hands once you start souvenir shopping in Bali! With a private car charter, you can leave your heavy bags in the air-conditioned car and hop between boutiques and cafes completely hands-free.

Calming Woody Scent: "GAHARU" Incense

Handmade incense

Incense is a part of daily life in Bali, burned almost everywhere you go. The one my friends specifically ask for by name is "GAHARU."

GAHARU refers to Agarwood (Jinko), which is world-renowned as a precious and high-quality fragrant wood. The scent is deep, earthy, and woody—the kind that instantly brings a sense of calm to your heart.

While many incense brands can be hit-or-miss, I trust GAHARU as a "guaranteed hit" every time.

YUKI

It's become harder to find in supermarkets lately, so I usually order mine through Tokopedia (EC).

Under 10,000 IDR for a pack of approximately 10 sticks.

These are long-burning sticks that last for about two hours, perfect for a relaxing evening.

8 sticks for 7,000 IDR (Approx. $0.45 USD)

This is another local incense I discovered at a fruit shop in my neighborhood.

Its charm lies in its rustic, handmade quality. It has a gentle, low-sweetness woody scent that’s easy to use every day.

YUKI

At only 7,000 IDR per pack, it offers the ultimate value for your money.

It’s light, affordable, and practical—the perfect trio that makes people genuinely happy to receive it.

Why I Love It

  • GAHARU (Agarwood) provides a deep, meditative woody aroma.
  • So reliable that people often request it by name.
  • Best purchased on Tokopedia as it’s becoming rare in physical stores.
  • Extra-long sticks with a generous 2-hour burn time.

A Staple for Smokers: "Garam" & "Sampoerna Mild"

The "Sampoerna" brand

This is the one souvenir my smoker friends always specifically request by name.

"Garam" is a type of "Kretek"—a traditional Indonesian cigarette infused with cloves.

The instant sweetness comes from the aromatic cloves and unique spice blend. The faint "crackling" sound as it burns is what gives it that authentic "smoking in Indonesia" vibe.

The white box in the photo is the old packaging,

which is slightly cheaper at 34,000 IDR per pack.

YUKI

For smokers, even these subtle differences in packaging are a fun part of the gift.

Why I Love It

  • The unique sweetness and spice profile (not found in Japan) really hits the spot for fans
  • Enjoy a subtle sweetness and a distinct aroma that sets it apart from standard cigarettes.
  • Available in both new and old packaging, with the older version being a bit more affordable.
  • Incredibly lightweight and easy to pack in your luggage.
  • A highly sought-after souvenir that's frequently requested by name.

A Crowd-Pleaser for Everyone: KOPIKO Coffee Candy

Two Flavors: Coffee & Cappuccino

When it comes to an all-time classic Bali souvenir, KOPIKO is the undisputed champion.

Available in every supermarket for about 100 yen per bag.

It checks all the boxes: it's light, affordable, and delicious.

The original Coffee flavor is rich and bold, with a mellow sweetness that’s highly addictive.

The Cappuccino flavor has a milky, gentle sweetness, making it an easy favorite even for those who aren't big coffee drinkers.

What’s amazing about KOPIKO is that even if you can find it elsewhere, receiving it as a gift directly from Bali always feels special.

YUKI

The small pocket-sized packs are also available, making them perfect for bulk gifting (baramaki).

Why I Love It

  • A true Bali staple that’s 100% loved by everyone you give it to.
  • Incredibly light and affordable at under $1 per bag.
  • Choose between the bold, rich Coffee flavor or the smooth, mild Cappuccino.
  • The pocket-sized packs are the ultimate choice for bulk gifting.

Bonus!

Pro-tip: Sensatia often has sales, so keep an eye out for discounts!

Bali is full of wonderful treasures—from rustic local goods to fragrant natural cosmetics—that make perfect "just because" gifts.

YUKI

The six items I’ve shared today are my personal favorites and requested items that have been genuinely loved by my own friends and family.

I highly recommend picking up a few extras for yourself to enjoy once you're back home.

I hope the gentle scents and flavors of Bali bring a little spark of joy and refreshment to your daily life after your trip.
