This is one of the well-known spots among nomads,with a strong crowd of Western remote workers.

And thestaff here are genuinely great!

From the parking attendant outside to the staff inside, everyone keeps a watchful eye, which makes it feel safe. They're friendly and attentive, so you can easily ask someone to keep an eye on your bag while you dash to the bathroom.

Our top pick: seats along the indoor wall

There's both a terrace and indoor seating, but I'd recommend the indoor seats along the wall. Most nomads sit here, and every seat has a power outlet underneath.

The chairs strike the perfect balance—not too hard, not too soft—ideal for sitting all day.

They serve herb-infused water for 17,000 IDR.

Nursing a single coffee or tea all day gets tiring and dries you out, so having a refreshing, low-cost drink like this is a nice touch.

Perfect when you want a small bite, not a full meal—this plain crepe costs 30,000 IDR , and you can swap it for a waffle too.

It's a simple crepe, crisp on the outside with whipped cream folded inside. Strawberry jam and chocolate toppings are also available for both the crepe and waffle.

This librarysits inside Desa Potato Head,the hotel right next toPotato Head Beach Club.

This is my top pick when I need to buckle down and really focus on work.

True to its name, the space is styled like a library, filled with photo books, magazines, and novels you're free to browse.

The best part is that non-guests are welcome too (as of March 2024). It seems to be a bit of a hidden gem, since it's rarely crowded whenever I visit.

There are sofas near the entrance where people tend to sit and read, while the tables are mostly taken by laptop workers.

Outlets are built right into the tabletops, so charging your phone or laptop is effortless.

No risk of tripping over cords, and having them within sight gives real peace of mind.

▼A Great Range of Drinks and Snacks

Coffee is Potato Head's own blend, priced at 45,000 IDR , and you can choose from latte, cappuccino, long black, or espresso.

Tea is 50,000 IDR, and I recommend the Balinese Chai Latte—rich with Indonesian tea and spices. It's best enjoyed sweet.

Outside looks like this—a nice spot to take a break and zone out for a bit. I noticed a lot of people taking phone calls out here.

The restroom is just outside the library on the same floor. Since the library itself isn't too large, it felt safe enough to leave my laptop behind while stepping out.

The Open-Terrace Café

This cozy café sits amid Kerobokan's rice paddies.

Look up from your laptop for a moment, and a rice field view stretches out in front of you. Somehow it feels easy on the eyes—a nice touch I really appreciate.

Most of the seating is open-air, facing the rice fields, but there's also a rare little standalone Joglo-style house.

What Is a Joglo?

A traditional wooden structure that originated in Yogyakarta, on Indonesia's Java island, built on raised stilts.

It's a traditional home style so beloved that many people build villas and houses inspired by Joglo architecture.

It's a great option if you'd rather work indoors than on the open terrace.

It fits about five or six people, and it's perfect for anyone wanting a quiet, cool place to focus.

Part of the wall is glass, so you still get that rice field view.

Here's the terrace outside the indoor Joglo seating.

It's shaded and pleasant here too.

By the way, these are the seats without a roof—not ideal during the hot midday sun. I'd recommend the covered open-air seating closer to the front instead. Not every table has an outlet, but if you ask to charge your devices, staff will bring an extension cord for you—a nice touch of hospitality.

The drink, dessert, and food menu here is nicely varied.

My pick is this passion fruit lemonade—refreshing and perfect company for a laptop session!

I've never had anything stolen while working from cafés with my laptop, but just in case, I always recommend choosing a café where the restroom isn't far away and you can see the whole space at a glance.

If a place is too sprawling or has too much foot traffic, it can feel a bit unsettling to step away from your laptop, even briefly.

Cafés with attentive, quick-moving staff tend to have eyes on everything,which gives me real peace of mind.
