Cinze Villas and Hot Spring sits in the highlands of Kintamani.
Think stunning views of Mount Batur, a crater lake, and terraced hot spring pools.
What stayed with me most was how peaceful it felt to simply be there.
Here's an honest look at the stay—pools, rooms, and everything in between.
Let’s get started!
Bali residents in need of a real escape.
Anyone in the mood to skip the sightseeing and just soak in a hot spring.
Those who love the cool, crisp mountain air of Kintamani.
People who’ve seen the "terraced pools" on social media and want to experience them in person.
Groups of friends looking for the perfect destination for a girls' getaway.

Location & Getting There
Kintamani is a bit of a drive, so a little planning goes a long way.

The villa is set in the Kintamani highlands, with views of Mount Batur and its crater lake.
From Ngurah Rai Airport in Denpasar, expect about a three-hour drive.
The mountain roads are winding, so leave with plenty of time to spare.

Grab and Gojek can be hard to find up here—booking a charter car for both ways is the safest bet.
YUKIEven for a day trip, a private car makes the whole journey much smoother.

The Hot Springs Up Close

Unlike traditional Japanese onsens, these are hot spring pools where wearing a swimsuit is required.
What makes this place truly special is the architecture—a cascade of pools that mirror Bali's iconic rice terraces.
Each tier holds its own intimate pool, giving the whole space a wonderfully private feel.

The water temperature is highest at the top tier, reaching a toasty 40–42°C (104–108°F) near the source.
As you move down to the lower tiers, the water becomes slightly cooler. It’s great because you can choose the perfect spot based on your mood or how much heat you can handle!
Even if you aren't staying overnight, day-use access is available for 200,000 IDR (Approx. $13) including a towel (as of Dec 2025).

There’s plenty of room for two people to soak comfortably in each individual pool.
The higher you go, the more the view opens up, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of Mount Batur and the lake.

One of the highlights of staying overnight was being able to soak during sunset and sunrise.
Watching the sky slowly change colors while soaking in the warm water was such a peaceful and luxurious experience—quite different from the daytime vibe.
Rooms & Dining
Rooms

Each room is a standalone villa—fully private and self-contained.
Every villa comes with its own private hot spring pool.

The in-villa hot spring was honestly one of the highlights of the stay.
If you let the staff know about an hour and a half in advance, they’ll fill the pool with steaming hot water for you.

The interiors are natural and unfussy.
Nothing flashy—but clean, calm, and just right for a quiet retreat.
The villa has one double bed, which might feel a little snug for two people.
If you're traveling with a friend, it’s worth keeping this size in mind for your stay.

Basic amenities like toothbrushes, shampoo, and conditioner were all provided.
Restaurant

In this post,Booking.comI booked the breakfast-included plan
There is one restaurant on-site where both breakfast and dinner are served.

The menu offers a wide variety, from Western favorites like chicken katsu, pizza, and pasta to local classics like Nasi Goreng.
Since it’s a bit tricky to head out after dark in Kintamani, having an on-site restaurant is a huge plus.

As night falls, the mountain air turns cool—and the owner lights a bonfire, which was a lovely touch.
Sitting by the fire in the mountain stillness felt quietly magical.

Breakfast is à la carte—order whatever catches your eye.
My friend and I both loved what we ordered—no complaints at all.

Travel Essentials & Tips
Kintamani's climate and setting are unique—a little prep makes a big difference.

Pack two swimsuits if you can.
You'll want to soak on arrival, after dinner, and again at sunrise—trust me.
Staying in a wet swimsuit in the cool mountain air gets chilly fast, so a spare is worth it.

One thing that surprised me: the flies.

It comes with the territory in such a lush, natural setting—the restaurant even keeps fly repellent on the tables.
We brought our own and it made a real difference.
You can easily pick some up on Tokopedia or at AZKO before you go.

A Perfect Pit Stop on the Way

On our way to Kintamani, we discovered a lovely cafe called Satoorasi Coffee.

Visiting places like this reminds me that Bali is truly an island full of talented artists and creative souls.

It’s located in the Tampaksiring area.
After a 1-minute walk down a narrow path through the rice paddies, this cafe suddenly appears as if out of nowhere.

Sweeping rice field views, striking architecture—it's the kind of place that stops you in your tracks.
No wonder it's all over Instagram. Every angle is effortlessly photogenic.

While there are many cafes in Kintamani, this is the perfect spot to stop and refresh during your long drive.
