7 Selection: "Go for This Specific Dish" when you crave Japanese food in Bali

I chose these dishes based purely on the feeling of "This is exactly what I want to eat today!"

Ichii (Seminyak)

Solo-traveler friendly. Perfect when you’re looking for comforting Japanese food.

Well-loved Tatami seating on the 2nd floor.

A long-established Japanese restaurant in Seminyak, beloved by Japanese expats for years.

They offer a wide variety of Japanese set meals (Teishoku), rice bowls, and Udon.

Highly Recommended: Nabeyaki Udon (84,000 IDR)

I love topping it with plenty of Shichimi (seven-flavor chili pepper).

The piping hot broth, silky noodles, and tender egg create a comforting, soulful flavor.

Coming here makes me feel like I’ve "come home."

Their "Hanakago Bento" (98,000 IDR), where you can choose your own side dishes, is also very popular.

Customize your meal with your choice of rice, sides, and a main dish.

With your choice of sides and rice, it’s a very satisfying meal for days when you’re extra hungry.

Tea is served in a cute cherry blossom teapot, perfect for relaxing after your meal.

Bonus: A Little Story About a "Miss"

Honest review! A time when my expectations didn't quite match reality.

A quick reminder: Be careful when judging a place solely by photos on social media or Google Maps.

It looked absolutely delicious in photos, so my expectations were high.

I found a trendy-looking Japanese curry shop and went there all excited,

thinking, "The Katsu Curry must be amazing!"

The interior was beautiful and the presentation was lovely.

However, once I tried it, the curry sauce was too thin and lacked that deep, rich flavor.

It was different from that "deep, savory Japanese curry" we all know and love.

It was a good reminder of how important it is not to rely entirely on reviews and photos.

Of course, taste is subjective.

It might be perfect for someone who prefers a lighter, soupier curry.
