When it comes to Bali's signature coffee, Kintamani is the name to know.
Grown in the island's cool highlands, it's prized for a fragrant aroma and a clean, smooth finish.
The best part? You don't have to trek up to Kintamani to try it — cafes and supermarkets in Kuta and Seminyak have you covered, whether you want a cup now or beans to bring home.
Here are three local favorites, with tips on how to enjoy each one.
・Coffee lovers craving an authentic local brew
・Anyone hunting for the perfect Kintamani coffee souvenir

Kintamani Coffee by the Beach

Farm-direct coffee with an ocean view, for just a few dollars

— this little pink stall is my go-to stop after a surf session at Kuta Beach.
The barista here is seriously passionate, personally visiting Kintamani farms to hand-pick and roast beans that meet their standard.

Fully Open-Air Seating! Take a seat right in the open air and enjoy your coffee with the ocean in view.

Beans are ground fresh after you order. Lattes and cappuccinos come with a choice of regular or oat milk.

You can also pick up beans to take home or gift. If you love your first cup, why not keep the Kintamani flavor going after your trip?
YUKIThe beauty of buying coffee at a cafe like this is you get to taste it first.
▼Right by the Kuta Beach Monument

This monument marks the spot — the pink stall sits right at its entrance. Just note it usually closes early afternoon, so plan accordingly.

Kintamani Coffee at a Roastery Cafe

Farmer Brews Roastery is run directly by a Kintamani farm, letting you customize everything from the beans to the brewing method.

A can't-miss stop for any coffee enthusiast.

Let me show you a menu item you won't find anywhere else.
▼The Manual Brew Experience

A unique setup where you pick from seven different brewing methods.

With four or five bean options, you can smell and choose by instinct — though staff say the aroma changes completely once it's actually brewed.

I picked this one simply because the glass filter looked so beautiful.

What surprised me: each serving of beans comes individually vacuum-packed, opened only after you order. Keeping the beans sealed until the last moment really shows their attention to freshness.

They start by wetting the filter with hot water before brewing — the technique shifts depending on which brewing vessel you choose.

I'd never had coffee crafted with this much care — clean on the palate yet rich and full-bodied, with just the right hint of bitterness. Genuinely delicious.

If you're a coffee lover, this place is a must-visit — and since beans are sold here too, you can easily bring some home as a gift.

Individually packaged drip bags slide right into your suitcase — perfect for handing out as gifts.
This one's from INDONESSO, offering Kintamani coffee alongside beans from Sumatra and Papua.

Open it up and each bag is individually vacuum-sealed.

This one's from INDOCAFE.
Right now, these are the two main brands offering individually packed drip coffee — though more will likely follow.
You can find them at Papaya Supermarket in Legian and Tiara Dewata in Denpasar.
