Jajan Breakfast at a Beachside Stall

Bussiness Hours7:00〜19:00
Quick note:Just a short walk from Seminyak Beach
toward Double Six Beach.

This breakfast stall sits right along Seminyak Beach.

Every morning, it lines up bite-sized breakfast treats like a mini buffet.

Pick whatever catches your eye, pop it in a basket, and pay at the counter.

Eat right there at the outdoor tables, or take it back to your villa or hotel.

My go-to order: the crepe on the right (dadar gulung) and the rice balls on the left (klepon).

Each piece runs about 2,000–5,000 IDR (roughly US$0.15–$0.30).

Dadar gulung is a pandan crepe filled with sweet shredded coconut cooked in coconut sugar.

Klepon, a chewy rice cake, hides a molten coconut-sugar syrup inside — pop it in your mouth all at once, or the syrup will spill out. That chewy bite is half the fun.

Chocolate cake is on offer too!
What Is "Jajan"?

Traditional Balinese sweets are called "jajan," or "jajan Bali."

They're simple treats made from sticky rice, rice flour, and coconut sugar.

Many locals keep breakfast light with just jajan and a cup of coffee.

Cash works best at these stalls.

These are lumpia spring rolls, individually wrapped so you can buy just one.

Right beside them, green chilies — and yes, they're spicy.

But they're totally addictive!

YUKI

Nibbling on green chili between bites of lumpia — that's the local way to eat it.

Right in front of the stall runs the Seminyak Beach walkway.

A morning stroll here feels amazing.

I usually walk first, then either eat here or take my breakfast home.

Smoothie Bowls at a Beachfront Warung

TROPICAL BOWL SMOOTHIES 50,000IDR

Next up: a smoothie bowl from a warung on Batu Belig Beach in Kerobokan.

Piled with coconut flakes over a chilled dragon fruit smoothie — the perfect refresher to start your day.

And the ocean-front setting makes it even better!

Walls? Windows? None at all!

Here's the morning view!

A morning walk before breakfast? Sounds perfect!

They also serve a golden mango-based smoothie bowl.

Don't miss this taste of true Bali mornings.

Also great for lunch or sunset beers.

Sometimes my expat friends and I call it "morning activity" and meet up for café breakfast.

Our usual spots are along the coast between Kuta and Canggu.

These cafés draw a real mix of expats and travelers from all over — it feels wonderfully international.

Cafés open in the morning tend to have menus like this.

If the menu says "ALL DAY," you can order breakfast any time.

American-style breakfast
BONDI FULL BREAKFAST — 70,000 IDR

A set with 7 items plus bread for around $4.50 USD? Great value.

Café breakfasts in Bali tend to be huge like this, so honestly, it works great as brunch too.

Add coffee or a latte for about 25,000 IDR (roughly US$1.60) more.

A relaxing breakfast, all for under $7 USD.

And here's a twist — this café looks just as fun at night!

There's a mysterious door tucked away, and opening it leads upstairs.

Climb up, and a hidden speakeasy-style bar appears!

It was daytime, so my photos don't quite capture the mood — but at night, it must be something special.

With a full drink menu, the bar only opens Friday through Sunday nights.

I'm definitely planning a return visit soon!

Another great pick for café mornings!

Bonus: An Elegant Hotel Buffet

Every now and then, I still treat myself to a hotel breakfast.

Always a proper luxury hotel — I pick ones where both the buffet and the location deliver.

These two welcome non-guests too, so they're worth checking out!

So, what do you think?

A local-style breakfast is one Bali experience truly worth trying at least once!
