Location & Access

It's located in one of the quieter, more laid-back corners of Kerobokan.

Warung Eny'sis about 40 to 50 minutes from the airport.

It sits on the outer edge of Kerobokan, in a peaceful area with terraced rice fields and grazing cows.

That said, a recent surge of development has brought plenty of new cafés and restaurants to the area.

There's plenty of parking too.

A Calm Setting with Rice Paddy Views

Set away from the usual tourist bustle, it's a place where you can eat at an easy pace.

"Warung" generally means a local eatery, and while that's true here too, this location just opened recently, so it's spotless and feels more like a proper restaurant.

Warung Eny's offers a wide range of Balinese dishes, from vegetables and tofu (tempeh included) to meat and fish. The menu is organized by ingredient, which makes it easy to browse and choose.

Let me walk you through what I'd recommend.

Ayam Betutu is one of Bali's signature chicken dishes..

Chicken is stuffed with lemongrass, turmeric, and ginger before roasting, and at Warung Eny's, it's steam-roasted in a traditional clay pot.

The chicken is so tender it practically falls off the bone, and so juicy. That turmeric-and-lemongrass sauce is seriously addictive.

TheLawarserved alongside is another traditional Balinese dish—and it's delicious too.

▼What is lawar?

Lawar is made from finely chopped vegetables like green beans, mixed with minced pork and grated coconut. It's a staple dish served at Balinese religious ceremonies, and you'll find it at warungs too. There's also a version made with pig's blood called lawar merah ("merah" meaning red), but the lawar served at Warung Eny's doesn't include blood.

It's not spicy, so it's a safe choice even if you're sensitive to heat.

What looks like a piece of chicken on the left of the photo is actually a thick stalk of lemongrass.

The curry has a light, broth-like texture—not spicy, with a subtle herbal aroma and a gentle overall flavor.

They also have tofu curry, fish curry, and vegetable curry.

Warung Eny's also serves some rare, traditional Balinese sambals.

Even after years of living in Bali, I'd rarely come across this sambal, so I had to order it!

▼Sambal Kecombrang

This sambal combines torch ginger flower (shown on the left) with shallots.

The refreshing ginger flavor and crunchy shallots pair beautifully with meat or fish over rice.

▼Sambal Dadong

An oil-based sambal made with coconut oil, shrimp paste (terasi), fried shallots, and both red and green chilies.

This one packs real heat, so it's a great pick if you love spicy food.

By the way, 'dadong' in the dish's name means 'grandmother' in Balinese.

Try either one as a way to switch up the flavor of your main dish.
