When planning a trip to Bali, many wonder: "Which airline is the most comfortable?" or "Is a layover too difficult?"
YUKISingapore Airlines offers seamless connections and exceptional cabin comfort. Their service truly lives up to the reputation, and they’ve become my go-to choice.
In this post, I’ll share the flight route to Bali, the transit process, and photos of the actual in-flight meals.
This route is very safe and reliable even for first-time visitors to Bali, so I hope you find this guide helpful!

Why I Love Flying with Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines is the national carrier of Singapore, located in Southeast Asia.
For years, they have consistently ranked at the top—often #1—in global airline ratings.Among travelers, they have established a solid reputation as a world-class airline.

In my experience, delays and luggage issues are extremely rare, making the journey feel very stable and reliable.
I’ve flown this route via Singapore over 10 times from Tokyo (Narita/Haneda)
and have never missed a connection.
With high on-time performance and excellent transit support, even first-timers can fly with total peace of mind.
In-flight Meal Photos & Actual Menus (Economy Class)
Meals on Flights: Japan to Singapore

Beef teriyaki-style with rice.

The quality of the food is excellent.
Since it was a return flight from Bali to Japan, I opted for the Japanese meal.It served chicken teriyaki, simmered radish and carrots, and soba noodles.
It also comes with cheese and crackers, which I absolutely love—I could go for seconds!
It pairs perfectly with wine.
In-flight Meal: Bali to Singapore

The flight between Bali and Singapore is short (about 2.5 hours), but it's great that they still serve a full meal!
The menu included beef stew with mashed potatoes, bread, cheese and crackers, and dessert. Wine was also available for order! 🍷
Knowing that a "proper meal" will be served really helps soothe any travel fatigue.

You can request special meals from 6 weeks up to 48 hours before departure (timing may vary by flight).

I ordered the Hindu Non-Vegetarian Meal (HNML)
It was a delicious chicken curry served with basmati rice
and chapati.
Other options like low-salt, vegan, and gluten-free meals are also available.
Transit Procedures & Time at Changi Airport

Transiting at Singapore Changi Airport is a breeze, thanks to clear signage and helpful staff.
Upon arrival, check your departure gate first. If needed, you can take the free Skytrain to move between terminals.

The shuttle service makes moving between terminals quick and easy, taking only a few minutes.

Even with a long layover, you won't get bored with the incredible selection of dining, shopping, and free lounges.

Minimum connection times can be around 1 hour.

In that case, you'll likely only have time to head straight to your next gate! (lol)
Since there are several flights a day from Singapore to Bali, you can sometimes choose a flight with a longer layover to enjoy the airport.

You will receive two boarding passes at your initial departure point. Be sure to check them, as the terminal is often printed there.

If you have a long wait, re-check the monitors 1 hour before departure. Gates can sometimes change last minute!
My Recommended Meal for Your Last Day in Bali

The one thing I must eat before flying back to Japan is "Nasi Jinggo."ナシジンゴです。
It only costs 5,000 IDR (approx. $0.35)
—a classic Indonesian breakfast staple.
You just can't find these cheap, delicious local eats back home, which is why I love them so much.
Rather than eating at a restaurant, having it outside along the beach is the absolute best.
There are many small stalls along Kuta Beach,
so be sure to check them out during a morning stroll!
