Location & Access

Andaz sits right on the coast in Sanur, about a 30-minute drive from the airport.

Unlike typical hotels, Andaz has no traditional front desk — walls are kept to a minimum throughout, giving it an airy, open feel that breaks away from conventional hotel design.

Breakfast at Andaz

Breakfast is served at Village Square, where four restaurants circle the hotel's central courtyard.

Watching the greenery while dish after delicious dish arrives at your table — that's what makes Andaz breakfast so special.

The indoor seating is nice and cool, but the outdoor tables with courtyard views are even better.

Once you're seated, you'll be handed a menu and start with drinks.

They also offer several kinds of jamu, Bali's traditional herbal tonic — worth a try.

Bread, cheese, and cold cuts are displayed in a showcase, so you can order while browsing.

Unlike a typical buffet, most dishes here are ordered from the menu and brought straight to your table.

The two of us ordered two or three dishes each.

Everything was delicious, but here are our top picks.

Must-Try Breakfast Dishes

Croque Madame, made with a small 4-inch pastry topped with cheese, ham, and white sauce.

We ordered two since there were two of us, but one order normally comes as a single piece — crispy and gone in about three bites.

Tuna pâté served with thin toast strips. Pâté always makes me want a glass of wine, but unlike meat-based versions, this one's light and never overpowering.

A dish with the curious name "hot spring egg" comes with avocado, a soft-boiled egg, and a small brioche.

A soup from Madura in Java, next door to Bali — essentially a beef version of soto ayam, the classic chicken soup.

There's also satay, bubur (rice porridge), and kwetiau (stir-fried rice noodles) on the menu, so anyone craving Indonesian flavors is well covered.

I ordered this French toast purely because it looked so cute — crispy fried brioche topped with pineapple and coconut ice cream.

As the ice cream melts into the brioche and the pineapple's gentle sweet-tartness spreads through, it tastes unmistakably tropical.

Craving fruit, I went with the Bedugul Berries.

Bedugul is a highland area in Bali known for growing strawberries.

It's served with berries, caramelized banana, coconut granola, and yogurt all mixed together.

This is the daily salad — watermelon and arugula, believe it or not! The subtly sweet and spicy dressing surprisingly works perfectly with the watermelon.

Hotel breakfasts always tempt me into ordering too many sweet things, so having a salad to reset my palate is such a relief — it just makes me want to keep eating!

Breakfast costs about 350,000 IDR per person (roughly US$22), plus service tax.

There's currently a promotion where booking for two gets one person free — worth confirming when you reserve. Note: for a party of three, only one person's breakfast is free, so going in even numbers is your best bet.

When we asked how long this deal would run, staff said there's no set end date yet. That said, it may not apply when the restaurant is full with hotel guests, so be sure to ask when booking.
