Pancakes have become a café staple here in recent years, ranging from old-school thin crepes to fluffy stacks and soufflé-style versions.

Each spot also brings its own flair with toppings and presentation.

Ricotta Pancakes at HUT Bali

Light and airy, yet still filling — a pancake built for breakfast or brunch.

HUT Bali sits just off Seminyak's main street, in a spot formerly known as Shelter.

The interior and menu carry over from the Shelter days — Shelter itself has since moved to Pererenan, so this feels like its sister café.

The café is upstairs, built from bamboo and filled with greenery — a genuinely relaxing space.

Bamboo architecture is beautiful but high-maintenance, so it's become genuinely rare these days. It's exactly what gives this Seminyak spot such a countryside feel.

Ricotta Pancakes

Three thick layers made with ricotta give it a slightly chewy texture, and the batter itself is barely sweet. The caramelized banana, nuts, and maple syrup combo is excellent, and it comes with vanilla ice cream too.

Matahari Pancakes at Good Mantra

Passion fruit and coconut cream come together for a pancake that's pure tropical Bali.

Next up is Good Mantra, a vegan and vegetarian-friendly café in Canggu.

It's close to Berawa Beach in Canggu, with accommodation available right above the café.

Matahari Pancakes

Matahari means "sun" in Indonesian, and the yellow of the passion fruit certainly fits. Topped with tangy passion fruit compote, coconut cream, and coconut ice cream, it's a refreshing, sweet-tart pancake that feels quintessentially Bali.

This photo turned out a bit chaotic, honestly

The batter itself is thin and chewy — it tasted like it might include cassava flour alongside the wheat.

The coconut cream isn't overly sweet either, so it's easy to finish without getting sick of it.

The second and third floors of Good Mantra function as guest rooms. Beds are king-size by default, but can reportedly be switched to twin.

The toilet and shower have separate doors, so it should work fine even for two people sharing. Rates vary by season, but rooms run around $25 to $45 a night.

Buttermilk Hotcakes at Revolver

Moist, thick, and wonderfully chewy — this pancake is hard to resist.

Revolver is a popular café known for its excellent food, with three locations: Seminyak, Canggu, and the airport's domestic terminal.

Revolver is popular enough to draw lines at lunchtime, and it's just as well known for its savory food as its sweets.

The interior sets Revolver apart from Bali's typical café look, and that's part of the appeal — it stays busy day after day.

Buttermilk Hotcakes

The thick batter has a chewy bite, and the salty crispy bacon paired with sweet maple syrup is fantastic. The fried egg comes with a perfect runny yolk for mixing into the pancake.
