Based on my visit during a special event, here's everything on Savaya's location, atmosphere, and how to make the most of a night out there.

Location & Getting There

Savaya is located in Uluwatu, about 40–50 minutes from the airport.

It's surrounded by 5-star hotels like Six Senses, Alila, and Karma Kandara.

This is Bali's true luxury zone.

The club sits dramatically atop a clifftop.

Though the ocean is right there, there's no direct access down to the beach.

It opens at noon, but the midday sun can be intense — and Savaya really shines once the DJ starts spinning at dusk.

I'd recommend heading there in the late afternoon.

Savaya's Changing Vibe: Day, Sunset & Night

The night I went happened to be an "African Disco" event.

As sunset approaches, the DJ takes over and the dancing begins.

You can see the ocean stretching out to the horizon in the background.

This view is only possible at a clifftop club — pure Uluwatu scenery.

Not into dancing? Just watching and soaking in the music is plenty enjoyable too.

There was even a performance on a rare African string instrument.

Walking right up to the cliff's edge makes for great photos.

Though if you're afraid of heights, it might feel a bit nerve-wracking.

And this spot is what Savaya is really known for.

This photo was taken once it got quite dark, so it's hard to tell, but the bar counter sits beneath a square light fixture, built to jut right out over the cliff.

That night, once the sun had fully set, the moonlight was beautifully bright.

Unlike other beach clubs, Savaya is renowned as a top-tier nightclub for dancing, and it shows in the meticulous lighting and sound design.

The lighting shifts with every DJ change and track, keeping the energy alive for everyone on the dance floor — this is exactly what makes Savaya special.

Tips for a Great Night Out (Entry Fee, Dress Code & Seating)

Savaya was ranked Asia's No. 1 club two years running, in 2024 and 2025, as part of the world's most iconic clubs list.

Music events are the main draw, with monthly schedules and ticket info posted on their website.

Be sure to check Savaya's official site for what's coming up.

On non-event days, entry costs about 225,000 IDR (roughly US$14) if bought online in advance, or 450,000 IDR (roughly US$28) at the door. (As of August 2025.)

A few other things to know about Savaya:

Dress code enforced (smart casual) — sportswear and cut-off clothing aren't allowed.

Age restriction: 21 and over.

Lockers available for 150,000 IDR

As a bonus, let me share how our night at Savaya actually came together.

It started with a friend texting, "There's a 'Disco Africa' event at Savaya next weekend — wanna go?"

— that was my first reaction! (lol)

So naturally, I went straight to Savaya's Instagram.

I even found a separate Instagram for Disco Africa itself, the event's namesake theme.

Once I had a rough sense of the vibe, my friends and I got straight into planning outfits!

Honestly, this part is always the most fun.

What even counts as "African-inspired" fashion? Should we add bones and feathers or something? (Dying laughing.)

The big day arrived — we all gathered at a friend's place first for a quick toast.

Since some of us were meeting for the first time through friends of friends, this was our chance to chat and warm up.

This time, our group was a mix of girls from Japan, Indonesia, New Zealand, and the Netherlands.

We even brought along a friend visiting from Japan, and she had an amazing time.

There's nothing like a good cross-cultural night out.

Definitely worth a visit.
