Bo&Bun's Vietnamese Salad
YUKIThe Vietnamese salad at Bo&Bun is one of my go-to lunch orders — I get it all the time.
It comes with glass noodles as standard, but I always swap mine for rice noodles.
Piled high with fresh veggies, crispy pork belly, and a generous stack of spring rolls.
Perfect for days when you want something light and refreshing.
You can also swap the pork belly for chicken or tempeh, Indonesia's beloved soy staple.

Kerobokan Eats — Dining Out
Lusiana's Kitchen's Napolitana Pizza
Lusiana's Kitchen is a casual Italian spot that locals swear by — affordable, delicious pasta and pizza across the board.
YUKIYou can order it through Gojek or Grab, so there's always a line of delivery bikes parked outside.
The standout is the Napolitana, topped with anchovies, capers, and black olives.

Pile it on, drizzle with chili olive oil, and it eats almost like a salad.
My Cocot's Bolognese Lasagna
My Cocot Bistro is a French-run bistro.
YUKIIt's in Umalas, right between Kerobokan and Canggu, and it's a real favorite among locals.
Their lasagna is my standing order — I never get tired of it.
Instead of the usual flat pasta layers, this version sandwiches Bolognese sauce between layers of mashed potato — a dream for potato lovers.
Perfect for sharing small bites over a glass of wine.

Okuzono's Mixed Appetizer Platter
Okuzono is a Japanese restaurant on Petitenget Street in Kerobokan, a strip known for ramen shops, teppanyaki spots, and other Japanese eats.
Their appetizer set comes with sushi rolls plus seven different small bites.
A 4-piece set is available for IDR 120,000 (about $8) as of August 2025.
YUKIJust this appetizer set with a couple of drinks, and I'm completely happy.
Eating Japanese food abroad has its own charm — a totally different vibe from back home.

Xich Lo's Chicken Pho
Xich Lo is a laid-back Vietnamese warung — casual all the way.
Their chicken pho has a gentle, comforting broth with real depth from the chicken stock — absolutely delicious.

When dining with friends who want a break from Indonesian food
This is my go-to for all three!
Last time three of us went, we all ordered the chicken pho.
Beef pho gets all the attention, but if you prefer something gentler and lighter, this is worth trying.
YUKIThey're generous with the bean sprouts, mint, and basil on top, which is another reason I love their pho.
Canggu Eats — Dining Out
Daeng Burger's Wagyu Burger
Daeng Burger has two locations in Canggu and one in Uluwatu.
YUKII'm a huge burger person. I'm always hunting down highly-rated spots on Google Maps and working my way through them.
The patty is hearty and the buns are on the firmer side. I really dislike soggy burgers, but even eating slowly, this one holds up — highly recommend.
The patty itself is outstanding, too — charcoal-grilled to just the right doneness, not overdone and not too rare.
YUKIThe fries are thin-cut and perfectly crispy — honestly, nothing to complain about!
I am Vegan Babe's Vegan Burger
This is the vegan burger from I Am Vegan Babe, one of Canggu's longest-running vegan cafés.
YUKII never used to be into vegan food, but this burger tastes so good it genuinely tricks you into thinking you're eating meat. So satisfying.
It's a double patty with a substantial bun — I worried I couldn't finish it, but before I knew it, I'd polished off the whole thing.
It's also dairy-free, making it a great option for gluten-free diners too.
Even if you're not vegan, this is the kind of burger that changes your mind about what "vegan" can taste like.

Finns Beach Club's Seafood Tomato Risotto
I had this at the bottomless lunch (all-you-can-eat) at St. Tropez, the restaurant inside Finns Beach Club — the seafood tomato risotto was outstanding.
YUKIIt's rich, almost like a shrimp bisque, and the rice has the perfect bite — the kind of dish where you want to scrape the plate clean.

Since it's a restaurant inside a beach club, head straight to the pool after eating. Note that outside bath towels aren't allowed.

Milk & Madu's Caesar Wrap
You genuinely can't go wrong with anything on the menu at Milk & Madu — it's the kind of café people keep coming back to.
The wrap uses a thin corn tortilla filled with Caesar salad and crispy-skinned chicken — lighter than a sandwich and easy to eat.
YUKIIt's more salad than sandwich, with just a little bread, but it's still really filling and satisfying.
It's easy to fall short on fresh veggies living in Indonesia, so meals like this are a lifesaver.

Tapas Bar Bonito's Tuna Bruschetta
What makes this bruschetta special is the combination of Italian stracciatella cheese and capers.
Lean tuna, creamy melt-in-your-mouth cheese (think burrata), and a hint of caper tang — the trio works perfectly together.
YUKIThis is exactly the kind of dish that makes you keep reaching for your glass of white wine.
As a seafood-focused tapas bar, they also serve octopus, salmon, and oyster bruschetta — a rare and impressive range.

Kuta Beach's Nasi Kuning
Nasi kuning is a small, breakfast-sized rice box that locals in Bali eat to start the day.
YUKIYou can get it anywhere, but eating it with an ocean view just makes it that much better!
I usually grab one after surfing at Kuta Beach, though away from the beach, some vendors sell it in the evening too.
Denpasar Eats — Dining Out
Warung Hindu's Nasi Campur
This Balinese-style nasi campur is also known as nasi Bali.
It's the kind of dish that counts as pure comfort food for Balinese locals.
Rice comes topped with a variety of side dishes, and here every one of them shines — crispy fried pork, sautéed bean sprouts and green beans, all delicious.
Nasi campur is usually pre-made, but this place is so popular the turnover keeps everything tasting fresh.
Prices range from IDR 12,000 to 20,000 across three or four tiers, with portion size and variety adjusted accordingly — the staff will plate it for you automatically.
YUKII always just point to the sides I want. If you'd rather do that too, just tell them your budget first and they'll sort you out.

Sanur Eats — Dining Out
THE RR CHOCOLATE's White Chocolate Soft Serve
At IDR 80,000, this soft serve costs about the same as premium versions back home — a splurge that made me hesitate at first. In the end, I'm so glad I tried it.
It's loaded with rich white chocolate (I'm a huge fan), and the soft serve itself melts on your tongue in the smoothest way.
YUKIDefinitely one I'll be craving again.
