A "Cream Bath" is a must-try experience in the spa paradise of Bali!
It is a traditional Indonesian scalp and hair treatment that has been cherished for generations.
The treatment involves a deep scalp massage using a rich cream to boost blood circulation. It promotes healthy hair growth and keeps your scalp in optimal condition. The generous amount of cream also deeply hydrates and repairs dry hair.
YUKIRecently, it’s also been gaining attention as an effective treatment for preventing gray hair and anti-aging.
You can find cream baths everywhere, from luxury hotel spas to small local salons.
Personally, I like to go as often as possible during my stay. That’s why I always choose salons that offer both high-quality skill and reasonable prices. Let me introduce you to my favorite local salon: [La Beaute]!
Price Update! (As of July 2025)
Location & Atmosphere

La Beaute is located in Kerobokan, about a 50-minute drive from the airport.
It’s tucked away in a quiet residential pocket, right in front of peaceful rice fields.

La Beaute is a local salon that functions as both a spa and a hair salon.
The facility includes shampoo stations, hair cutting areas, and dedicated spaces for body massages.

The treatment areas are semi-private, separated by curtains rather than solid walls.
This is where you can enjoy body massages, body scrubs, waxing, and more.
Now, let me tell you all about their "absolutely-must-try" Cream Bath!
The Cream Bath Experience

Plop yourself down into one of the comfy sofas and just relax! ^^
This shared space is where they perform cream baths, manicures, pedicures, and foot massages.

My top recommendation is the therapist named Ari.
Ari is an experienced Balinese therapist with strong, firm fingers that provide deep and invigorating scalp stimulation.

The session kicks off with a scalp massage!
What makes La Beaute’s cream bath so special is that it includes a massage for your neck, back, and arms/hands too!
If the pressure is too much, don't hesitate to say "Too strong" or "More soft, please."

Once the scalp massage is done, they wrap your head in a hot towel to help the cream penetrate deep into your hair.
While the cream works its magic,
you’ll get a 15-minute neck and back massage, plus 5 minutes for each hand.
You'd be surprised how much tension you hold in your hands from using phones and PCs—it feels amazing!
They use a blend of cream and oil for the body massage, so it’s perfect for those who don't like that greasy, oily feeling.

They offer to wipe you down with a towel afterward, but I prefer to leave it on for extra hydration! ♪
Options & Prices

There are 3 types of cream baths,
and the price varies depending on the cream you choose.
1. Standard Cream Bath: $7.30 (110,000 IDR) using avocado cream.
2. Hair Spa: $8.00 (120,000 IDR) with a more hydrating cream.
3. Hair Mask: $8.60 (130,000 IDR) for intense hydration and damage care.
❤️

Since I worry about dryness and damage, I always go for the "Hair Mask" option.
If it’s your first time, starting with the standard Cream Bath is a great choice.

After the massage, they’ll rinse the cream out thoroughly and blow-dry your hair for you.

Another highlight: You can enjoy multiple treatments at once!
You can get a manicure, pedicure, or foot massage simultaneously while receiving your cream bath.
Be sure to request this when booking, as it depends on staff availability.
Manicures start from $6.00 and pedicures from $6.60, including cuticle care. Gel nails are also available.
Foot massages start from 70,000 IDR (approx. $4.60) for 30 minutes.
It’s amazing that all these treatments are in the $5–$10 range—such a bargain!
Details & Reservations

Since this salon is incredibly popular with locals, making a reservation in advance is a must.
Reservations can be made via WhatsApp.

It’s a free messaging and calling app, similar to LINE.
In Indonesia, WhatsApp is more widely used than LINE, making it the most convenient way to communicate.
I recommend downloading and setting up the app before you leave for your trip.

Please note that they are closed every Monday!
